Prairie Protectors’ Rain Garden Starter Kit

What are these seed kits for?

For the OurEcho Competition the Prairie Protectors have been hard at work developing seed kits for people to buy to start their own rain garden. We hope to give these kits to families so that children can become more passionate about saving the environment. Inside these seed kits there will be a brochure to teach families about our project as well as seed packets with pictures and instruction.

How did we design these kits?

To design these kits we started off by researching what seeds would be bought, how would we package the product and did we need to give a pamphlet? We decided to make our own packages that are origami leaf envelopes. Prairie Protectors have also decided to order seeds from a local nursery near our area. After a

couple of weeks we also designed a brochure that gives information about the Prairie Protectors and what they are all about.

What seeds come in the seed pack?

Depending on where you put your rain garden you could have a sun or shade rain garden. Below are listed the content of both types:

Full Sun Seeds:

Shade Seeds:

• Jacob ladder

• Spotted Geranium

How to buy seeds?
